Novo Kia Sportage 2010/2011 é flagrado na Alemanha

NEW SPY PHOTOS obtained this week reveal that development of the next generation Kia Sportage is nearing completion. Despite the heavy camouflage, it is clear that the new Sportage - set to be Kia’s fifth all-new model since the Cerato sedan early this year - will wear styling inspired by the 2010 Sorento. Based on the dynamic Kia Kue concept revealed back in 2007, the new Sportage will feature the more recently developed ‘Schreyer Line’ grille design. Sharing its platform with the Hyundai Tucson’s successor in the upcoming 2010 ix35, the new Sportage will retain the ‘compact SUV’ layout of the current model, making it a smaller alternative to the roomier seven-seat Sorento. As with its siblings in the Kia line-up, the Sportage will likely be offered in an entry-level Si trim, with an SLi model getting more upmarket features. Available already with the Grand Carnival and the new Sorento, a range-topping ‘Platinum’ trim may also be offered. It’s too early to know exactly which engines will be offered with the next-generation Sportage, but it is likely to share the ix35’s 123kW 2.0 litre petrol and 102kW 2.0 litre R-series diesel engines. Kia has offered no word on when the new Sportage will be revealed, but likely dates include the 2009 Los Angeles Auto Show in December or the Detroit Auto Show in January.
